The high school is co-sponsored by the Congregation of St. Basil and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart Mary.

One note:
It is correct that the first Cristo Rey school was founded by Jesuits in Chicago in 1996 and that 11 of the Cristo Rey Network schools are sponsored by the Jesuits. However, Detroit Cristo Rey is co-sponsored by the Congregation of St. Basil and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, both of whom have been involved in education in southeast Michigan for many decades.
