I don&#8217;t know how I missed hearing about this, but I&#8217;m glad I found out in time. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/promotecatholicism\">CMPD Facebook page<\/a>, Catholics with blogs should post their favorites in the following categories:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/promotecatholicism\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2452\" title=\"Catholic Media Promotion Day\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nicksenger.com\/csc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/cmpd.jpg\" alt=\"Catholic Media Promotion Day\" width=\"150\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 blogs<\/li>\n<li>3 podcasts<\/li>\n<li>3 other media<\/li>\n<li>3 random Catholic things online<\/li>\n<li>their own projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, Catholics are asked to visit iTunes and leave 3 positive review for podcasts and apps.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my contributions, heavily biased by my current interests in Catholic education and deacon formation:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blogs that I Never Skip<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/community\/deaconsbench\/\">The Deacon&#8217;s Bench<\/a> &#8211; Of all the blogs I read, I look forward to this one the most.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.avemariapress.com\/engagingfaith\/\">Engaging Faith<\/a> &#8211; Superb effort from Ave Maria Press to share practical lesson plans and activities for Catholic educators and catechists.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/cnsblog.wordpress.com\/\">CNS Blog<\/a> &#8211; An essential source for Catholic news.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Podcasts I Can&#8217;t Do Without<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thereasonforourhope.org\/\">The Reason for Our Hope<\/a> &#8211; The most refreshing homilies I&#8217;ve ever heard. Brutally honest, opinionated and inspired.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/catholictv-newsbreak-most\/id301251393\">CatholicTV Newsbreak<\/a> &#8211; An excellent resource to use in the classroom.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/divineoffice.org\/\">Divine Office<\/a> &#8211; A beautiful podcast of the Liturgy of the Hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Must-See Media<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholictv.com\/Home.aspx\">Catholic TV<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholictv.com\/catholic-magazine.aspx\">iCatholic Digital Magazine<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/icatholic.catholictv.com\/\">iCatholic Community<\/a> &#8211; I can&#8217;t say enough about how much I admire and appreciate what the Archdiocese of Boston is doing in the realm of new media. Between their TV network, their digital magazine, <a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/icatholic-magazine\/id379442986?mt=8\">their gorgeous iPad app<\/a> and their online community, they are paving the way for Catholic evangelization in the 21st century. This is what all Catholic media should aspire to&#8211;high quality in every respect.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/ibreviary-pro-terra-sancta-hd\/id422608139?mt=8\">iBreviary Pro Terra Sancta<\/a> &#8211; This is the greatest Catholic app in iTunes, hands down. The complete Liturgy of the Hours, Mass readings, Catholic rites, prayers&#8211;and all for FREE. An absolute must for all Catholic iPhone, iPod or iPad users. There is no reason for this app not to be on the mobile Apple device of every Catholic.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/aceadvocates.nd.edu\/\">ACE Advocates for Catholic Schools<\/a> &#8211; If you care anything at all for Catholic education, then I implore you to join this initiative from the University of Notre Dame.
