First Day of Workshops

I’ve attended three workshops today so far, and they’ve all been excellent:

  • NCCE 2015Extend Learning Using Online Discussion Forums – In this 2-hour workshop I learned all about using Schoology and Edmodo to extend learning beyond the classroom. This is something I will definitely be trying with some classes when I get back.
  • Make Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Programs Work – This was another two hour workshop about how some schools are having students bring their own devices to use for schoolwork, instead of the school providing them with technology. There was a lot of good information here, and lots of food for thought as we continue to think about how to improve technology at All Saints.
  • Chromebook Cart Certification – This was a workshop about how to train teachers in using Chromebooks. It gave me lots of great ideas.
  • The last workshop I was going to attend had to be cancelled because the speaker had a medical emergency. I’m not sure what happened to him but I hope he is ok.
