Reading Challenges for 2017

Young Man Reading

With 2017 on the horizon, I’m entering new reading territory by committing to several reading challenges. I’ve never done a reading challenge before, but I’ve enjoyed seeing other bloggers write about their challenges, so I’m jumping into the fray. Here are the challenges I’m signing up for this year:

You can follow my progress on the 2017 Reading Challenges page, and I’ll be reviewing the books I read right here on One Catholic Life. You can get these posts delivered directly to your email inbox by entering your email address in the form on the upper right hand corner of any page (No spam, I promise!).

Great selection…I’ll be doing Deal Me In (reading 52 essays) and Back to the Classics with you!

Thanks for joining Deal Me In! I see another story on your list that I read in 2016 and really liked, “Scredni Vishnar” by Saki. I like the Alphabet soup challenge too. Maybe I can find a way to work it into my reading. Have a great reading year in 2017!

Thanks, Nancy! I’m still considering the Tolkien read-a-long, but I’m worried I may already be stretched too thin. We’ll see how it goes!

Whoo, looks like you’ll have a very busy reading year with all these challenges! I’m doing the Back to the Classics one, too. Best of luck to you, and Happy New Year!

An excellent list of challenges. I am still cautiously working on narrowing down my own list, and have only firmly decided on three. Surely there is room for more, but we will see.
I will have to take a look at that short story challenge that you are participating in. I was just saying that I would like to read more short stories this year.
Best of luck with your goals. I look forward to seeing what books you will choose for these different categories.
