Two things I love are quotes and lists, so here’s another list of quotes, this time about learning in general:
“Wisdom is a good purchase though we pay dearly for it.” - Michel de Montaigne
“If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” - Benjamin Franklin
“The school should always have as its aim that the young leave it as a harmonious personality, not as a specialist…The development of general ability for independent thinking and judgment should always be placed foremost, not the acquisition of special knowledge.” - Albert Einstein
“Universal suffrage, without universal education, would be a curse.” - H.L. Wayland
“Do not ask if a man has been through college; ask if a college has been through him–if he is a walking university.” - E.H. Chapin
“If you would thoroughly know anything, teach it to others.” - Tyron Edwards
“Nothing is interesting if you are not interested.” - Helen MacInness
“The mind is but a barren soil…unless it be continually fertilized and enriched with foreign matter.” - Sir J. Reynolds
